Research Interests
My previous research involved genetic epidemiology of complex disorders, such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes and metabolic syndrome. I am particularly interested in gene-, pathway-based and meta-analysis of effects of genetics variants and gene and environmental interactions.
I am also interested in combining dependent p-values in the analysis of panel data.
Methodology Center Research Areas:
Current Projects and Collaborators
I work with Stephanie Lanza, Runze Li, and Linda Collins of The Methodology Center on the development and application of SAS macros for time-varying effect model (TVEM) and finite mixture model. I am revising the TVEM macro to allow for binary and count responses
I also collaborate with Dr. David Greer at Yale University on prediction of recovery of patients with non-traumatic coma who suffered cardiac arrest. I work with Dr. Jinying Zhao at University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center to examine the effect of genetic variants in the nAChRs pathway and leukotriene pathway on diabetes and subclinical atherosclerosis. I also work with Dr. Xuguang Sheng at American University to develop an adaptive version of a p-value combination method.
