Dr. Maggs's primary research interests are in risk behaviors during adolescence and the transition to adulthood. Dr. Maggs's University Life Study uses a measurement burst design to examine links between motivations, daily activities, college experiences, and risk behaviors (including alcohol use, sexual behavior, other substance use, and gambling) among university students. She collaborates with multiple Methodology Center rsearchers, including Drs. Bray, Vasilenko, and Lanza, on projects using innovative methods, including mixture modeling.
