Research Interests & Collaborations
My primary research interests include life course influences on alcohol and other substance use and its treatment, gender and racial/ethnic disparities in substance use, gender and racial/ethnic disparities in substance use, and novel statistical methods to address questions in social and behavioral public health research including causal inference and time-varying effect models. I am currently work with Jennifer Maggs and Stephanie Lanza on multiple projects including examining the long-term consequences of alcohol use using the National Child Development Study (NCDS), the co-use of alcohol, tobacco, and other substances among college students, and using time-varying effect models to examine how risks for alcohol and other substance use vary across the life course.
